Victor Fries, better known as Mr. Freeze, is a tragic villain from the DC Comics universe, often associated with Batman. First appearing in Batman #121 (February 1959) as Mr. Zero, the character was later reimagined with a more sympathetic origin.
The version prominently featured in Batman TAS (Batman: The Animated Series) cemented Mr. Freeze's status as a complex antagonist. This iteration presents Fries as a cryogenics scientist desperately searching for a cure for his terminally ill wife, Nora. An accident in his lab resulted in his body becoming dependent on sub-zero temperatures for survival.
